Delivering Dignity to women in need. We are collecting much needed feminine hygiene products for homeless and low-income women. Our 4th Drive. Assisting CT and NYC. Began 4 years ago via College student. A very interesting story below, how it all began and what exactly Pad-emonium is.
Delivering Dignity to Women in Need
Pad-emonium is holding an important necessary Drive with a specific mission to Deliver Dignity to women in need. This subject is barely talked about, but I have helped out on Midnight runs to NYC along with local Shelters and I have identified a problem–there is a lack of feminine hygiene products for females, ages 9-50’s. It all began thanks to a sad but necessary encounter with a homeless woman whom I will call “Margaret.” Margaret asked me to guard her prized possessions while she waited in a line to receive a sandwich and a blanket. Her treasures consisted of a graffiti-ed cardboard box, some candy wrappers, an old photo of her daughter, and some used sanitary napkins and other unthinkable items to assist with her period flow. I have been informed directly that these women often reuse items and that just did not seem right. Often, others think to donate food and clothing, but neglect to even think of donating feminine hygiene products. Health and well-ness are imperative for all. Therefore, I have made this my goal to address and bring awareness to this issue. I have teamed up with The Waterbury Bible Church for drop offs and Acts 4 Ministry, a Non-profit organization in Waterbury, CT. (EIN# 20 3676244) I also remain in touch and assist the Midnight Run via Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY. This Event will be a collection of feminine hygiene products and the proceeds will go to Acts 4 Ministry in Waterbury and a portion to the Midnight Run. It is the fourth annual Pad-emonium Event to be held and I wish to bring more awareness to this issue, for it is actually a worldwide problem. I hope others will join me in this act of love and necessity, especially in Delivering Dignity to low-income and homeless women in need. Last year we fortunately collected over 5000 items to deliver to females throughout the Community and NYC. It was thanks to generous donations, and no donation is too small. Please join us in a meaningful, necessary endeavor. Awareness is key. At this time, we are asking for donations of any feminine hygiene product; Coupons are even helpful. Anything you can do in aiding our fund-raising efforts would be truly appreciated and go directly to those in need. Fliers will be up soon throughout the area, as well. Interviews with any media would be wonderful and truly appreciated so I and my team can spread the word about Pad-emonium. The Pad-emonium Drive will be on June 1sth, 2024 at the Bible Church on 240 Dwight Street. People can drive up safely and drop off. If wished, I, Kendelle, can pick up items at request. If you wish to donate to the Volunteers, any beverages and/or snacks would also be a wonderful assist to this event. It is kind to support the community and our neighbors. Together we can make an impact. If you have any questions regarding the Pad-emonium Event, you may call: Founder, Kendelle Rose Pitts 203 560 9649 kendellerose@aol.com Acts 4 Ministry: Executive Director Sarah Elizabeth Cabaret executivedirector@acts4.org or simply check out Pad-emonium Connecticut on FB I and my Team thank you for taking the time to read this note. I wish to serve others and make an impact. Please, I implore you to help our cause. Let’s Deliver Dignity to women in need. No donation is too small. If many give a little, we will surely have a lot to address this issue. Anything is truly appreciated. We need to get the word out and make this a success. We need to assist women in gaining access to these products, for it is a worldwide issue. Thank you so much for your time, I appreciate you. *Volunteer drinks/snacks are welcome, as well. I hope you can find it in your heart to make a donation. Or simply, please pass the word. Kindly, Kendelle
