Learn How to Live Alongside Connecticut’s Wildlife at Otis Library
NORWICH . . . . . . Connecticut is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, from black bears and bobcats, to songbirds, bats, reptiles, and amphibians. As encounters between people and wildlife become increasingly common, Otis Library invites the community to learn more about the animals that share our state during Living with Connecticut’s Wildlife on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, from 5:00-6:00 PM in the Community Room.
Presented by certified Master Wildlife Conservationist Paul Colburn, this engaging and informative program will introduce participants to many of Connecticut’s most recognizable wild residents, including black bears, coyotes, bobcats, foxes, raccoons, deer, birds, bats, reptiles, and amphibians. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of these species, their behaviors, and the important roles they play in local ecosystems.
As development continues to bring people and wildlife into closer contact, understanding how to safely and responsibly coexist with wild animals has never been more important. Colburn will discuss practical strategies for reducing conflicts, protecting wildlife habitats, and encouraging positive interactions between humans and the natural world.
Whether you are a nature enthusiast, homeowner, gardener, or simply curious about the animals living around you, this presentation offers an opportunity to deep your appreciation for Connecticut’s wildlife and learn simple steps that can help people and animals thrive together.
This program is free and open to the public. Registration is required. For more information or to register, visit our website at www.otislibrarynorwich.org or call 860-889-2365 ext. 128.
