Image Group LA/ABCKendrick Lamar‘s life — from his humble beginnings in Compton, California to his current position on the top of the charts — will be documented in an upcoming biography.
The writer of the book, Bandcamp Senior Editor Marcus J. Moore, shared the exciting news via Twitter on Thursday.
He writes, “Some big news I’ve been eager to share: I’ve signed with @TouchstoneBooks to write the cultural biography of Kendrick Lamar.”
“My book, The Butterfly Effect: How Kendrick Lamar Ignited the Soul of Black America, will detail his ride to rap superstardom.”
As of now, the book does not have a release date. Touchstone Books, which is an imprint of Simon and Schuster, has published other biographies, like American Ballet Theatre dancer Misty Copeland‘s Life in Motion and late Mobb Deep rapper Prodigy‘s My Infamous Life.
