ABC/Randy HolmesThe late Chester Bennington would’ve celebrated his 42nd birthday today. To mark the occasion, Linkin Park is launching a fundraiser to benefit 320 Changes Direction, a mental health awareness campaign started by Bennington’s widow, Talinda.
“The mission is to change how we think and talk about mental health,” the band explains. “Enabling people who are struggling to seek help and streamlining resources for individuals and families.”
Along with the fundraiser, several of Bennington’s band mates have posted tributes to honor his birthday. Mike Shinoda posted a picture of Bennington performing live and wrote, “Happy birthday buddy,” while bassist Dave “Phoenix” Farrell shared a photo of him and Chester wearing funny glasses.
In the caption, Farrell wrote, “Happy Birthday, my friend. You are dearly missed. I think about you more now than ever. You could always make me laugh so easily…it’s one of the many things I miss about you.”
