Upon its release in 2006, Whatever People Say I Am became the fastest-selling debut album in the history of British music. It also introduced the fresh-faced band’s very British style of indie rock to the rest of the world with the singles “I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor” and “When the Sun Goes Down.”
With their subsequent albums, Arctic Monkeys have moved towards a heavier, more arena-ready rock sound, especially with their most recent effort, 2013’s AM. The band has recently been working on a new album, which is expected to arrive sometime this year.
