Rosalind O’Connor/NBCIs it “Arcade Fire” or “The Arcade Fire”? Even the band isn’t sure in a promo for this weekend’s Saturday Night Live.
In the clip, host Bill Hader introduces the Canadian indie rockers as “Arcade Fire,” frontman Win Butler says their name is actually The Arcade Fire. “I thought it was just Arcade Fire,” vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Regine Chassagne responds. Everyone then pulls out their phones to look up the correct answer, and Butler discovers that “it’s Arcade Fire, that’s what we’re called.”
Perhaps Billy Corgan‘s band can go on SNL so we can determine once and for all if it’s “Smashing Pumpkins” or “The Smashing Pumpkins.”
Arcade Fire’s SNL episode airs March 17 on NBC.
