The dreary clip, streaming now on YouTube, takes place is a grey, dystopian world where the only light comes from the smartphones that people can’t stop staring at. Finally, one woman finds a way outside, and leads people to put down their devices.
The anti-phone message of “Disillusioned” shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, since A Perfect Circle shows have a strict no photo or recording policy.
“Disillusioned” is a track from A Perfect Circle’s forthcoming new album Eat the Elephant, their first in 14 years. The album, which also features the singles “The Doomed” and “TalkTalk,” will be released April 20.
