ABC/Randy HolmesFetty Wap admitted in a New York City court Thursday that he was driving drunk while drag racing. However, he avoided going to prison.
The “Trap Queen” rapper was facing felony charges and struck a deal: He pleading guilty to a misdemeanor, reckless endangerment and driving while intoxicated, stemming from an incident last year. Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Marguerite Dougherty ordered him to pay a $500 fine and attend safe driving classes, the Daily News reports.
Fetty, born Willie Maxwell, was arrested on November 3, 2017 while driving 105 miles per hour in Brooklyn, New York in a drag racing with Zaine Richards, who was also arrested.
Fetty was charged with reckless endangerment, illegal speed contest, drunken driving, aggravated unlicensed operation of a car and illegal lane changing. He was facing up to four years in prison.
