Richie Knapp/USA NetworkThe highly-anticipated series premiere of Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. airs tonight at 10 p.m. ET on USA.
The true-crime anthology series takes a look at the murders of iconic rappers Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls.
As previously reported, executive producer Kyle Long said during a panel discussion at the Television Critics Association winter press tour that the series itself “is crazy accurate.”
“If you made it up, people wouldn’t believe it,” he added.
“There’s this whole scene [in the pilot] where Biggie and Tupac are running around in the backyard with guns. That really happened. I wouldn’t have put that in the show if it didn’t happen, ’cause it would have been ridiculous.”
Series co-producer and music supervisor Lyah Beth LeFlore also said that the music in the pilot and throughout the series is “reflective” of the golden era of hip-hop and R&B music from 1993 to 2007.
“We pay homage to Biggie and Tupac, their legacies, what they mean as cultural icons to hip-hop,” she continued.
The series premiere of Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G. airs February 27 at 10 p.m. ET on USA.
