Belly TouringBelly is back. The ’90s alternative rock band, best known for their 1993 hit “Feed the Tree,” will release a new album called Dove on May 4.
Dove will be Belly’s third full-length effort, and their first in 23 years. The first single from Dove is called “Shiny One,” which you can download now via digital outlets.
“I have a lot of affection for ‘Shiny One,'” says frontwoman Tanya Donelly. “It was the first completely collaborative song we’ve ever done — [bassist] Gail [Greenwood] wrote the riff and the chorus, [guitarist] Tom [Gorman] and I wrote the verse and bridge, [drummer] Chris [Gorman‘s] parts shaped the direction and vibe. When I hear it, I hear all four of us equally.”
In support of Dove, Belly will launch their first major tour since 1995, beginning May 26 at the Boston Calling festival. Visit BellyOfficial.com for ticket info.
Belly’s debut album Star was released in 1993. They followed that up with 1995’s King, and then broke up a year later, before reuniting in 2016.
