Daniel Boczarski/RedfernsIn addition to being an Oscar-nominated actress, Margot Robbie was once a big metalhead, and counts herself a fan of bands like Metallica, Slipknot and Bullet for My Valentine. She’s such a big Bullet fan, in fact, that her heart literally jumped when she found out the Welsh metallers gave her a shout-out at a recent concert.
The Suicide Squad and Wolf of Wall Street star appeared on a BBC Radio 1 segment called Heart Rate Monitor on Wednesday, during which celebrities answer questions while hooked up to a machine to measure their heart rate. In the middle of the interview, the host showed Robbie a video of Bullet frontman Matt Tuck dedicating the band’s song “Tears Don’t Fall” to her at a show in Canada earlier this month.
As Robbie watches the video, her heart rate hits 134 beats per minute, the highest it reached during the segment. “I can’t believe that just happened!” she exclaims. “I’m dying, it’s like my whole childhood.”
After she calmed down, the host also showed Robbie a video of Slipknot’s Corey Taylor giving her a personalized greeting thanking her for being a fan and inviting her to any future Slipknot shows.
Perhaps we’ll hear some Bullet for My Valentine or Slipknot if Robbie takes home the Oscar for Best Actress next month for her role in I, Tonya. The 90th Academy Awards air March 4 on ABC.
