ABC/Randy HolmesRoyal Blood just released their sophomore album How Did We Get So Dark? last summer, but the British duo has already started looking towards record number three.
“We’ve thought about it,” frontman Mike Kerr tells NME. “We’re pretty busy at the moment. We’ve written a few bits, but we’re kind of still in the thrust of touring. Until that comes to an end, we won’t be embarking on much as of yet.”
Kerr hasn’t thought too much about the sound of the next album, but he is sure of one thing: it has to rock.
“As long as it’s rock music, and it’s me and [drummer Ben Thatcher] smashing the s*** out of some instruments and having a laugh, then it could be a reggae record for all that we care,” Kerr says.
Royal Blood will launch a North American headlining tour this spring. They’ll also play a run of dates opening for Queens of the Stone Age.
