Prince Williams/WireImageAndre 3000 and Big Boi got back together Tuesday night…but unfortunately, not to make music.
According to Billboard, the two Outkast members were reunited in Atlanta, at a private screening of USA’s Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. Big Boi posted a photo of the moment on his Instagram, and Andre 3000 looks pretty happy.
Of course, fans flooded the comment section with pleas for the two to record again, with one writing, “All that doe left on the table..Do it for the CUltURe 3K the world needs yall!!!”
Another wrote, “We need new outkast music .. when you guys dropping the new single?” Still another wrote, “Hip hop need a Outcast album.”
That seems unlikely, though. Just this past October, Andre told GQ that these days, he’s more interested in producing other artists, even though he admitted that he’s no longer close to the cutting edge of hip hop.
“Rhythms change every generation…And I’m not on the pulse. I can’t pretend. It’s kinda like watching your uncle dance,” he said. “So the only thing I can do is this kind of novelty, off thing for them.”
But if he changes his mind, Big Boi is ready. In November, Sir Lucious told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, “I’ve always said, whenever ‘Dre is ready, I’m always ready. Right now he’s focusing on different things, and we respect that as a brotherhood. We text each other every other day. That’s my brother.”
