Following the bombing outside her concert in Manchester, England last May that killed 23 people, Ariana showed her support for the city for staging the massive all-star concert, which featured everyone from Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus and Coldplay, to Justin Bieber, Pharrell Williams and Niall Horan. It raised more than 10 million dollars for the British Red Cross.
According to NME, in a statement, Ariana said, “We really appreciate everyone who’s voted tonight, but I’d like to dedicate this award to the real heroes — the people of Manchester, the brave young men and women who stand together.”
The concert was also named Music Moment of the Year at the ceremony, which took place at London’s O2 Academy Brixton Wednesday night.
Other NME Award winners last night include Lorde, for Best International Solo Artist; Charli XCX’s song “Boys,” for Best Track; and Lady Gaga‘s Netflix documentary Gaga: Five Foot Two, for Best Music Film.
