Raven VaronaCardi B could be surrounded by armed security next weekend in Los Angeles, when she performs at three different nightclubs during NBA All-Star Weekend, according to TMZ.
The Grammy nominee allegedly took this drastic action after receiving recent threats via social media from the Southern California-based Crips gang.
Members of the Crips believe that the “Bodak Yellow” rapper disrespected them by wearing a blue fur coat in an Instagram picture posted earlier this week, with the caption, “I hate wearing Flue but this coat was too poppin.”
It’s been rumored in the past that Cardi has an affiliation with the Crips’ rival gang, the Bloods. Blue is the color famously worn by Crips members; Bloods members wear red.
You can’t see the threats in Cardi’s Instagram message, though, because the comments section has been completely wiped away.
TMZ says nightclub management “held an emergency meeting Wednesday” to figure out how to best “handle the crisis,” especially since Cardi has no plans to cancel her appearances.
She’s supposedly earning around $250,000 for the gigs.
