ABC/Fred Watkins; ABC/Randy HolmesThis week, Foo Fighters wrapped up an Australian tour with support from Weezer in Melbourne. To celebrate the end of the run, Dave Grohl and company invited Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo onstage to perform the KISS classic “Detroit Rock City” with them.
For the performance, Cuomo handled lead vocals, while Grohl played the role of the guitar-shredding hype man. You can watch fan-shot footage of the collaboration now via YouTube.
Weezer also tweeted a photo of Cuomo rehearsing with the Foos.
“Absurd amounts of rock,” they wrote in the caption. “More rock than can be comprehended.”
“Foozer” will play one more show together this Saturday, February 3 in Auckland, New Zealand. The Foos will launch a U.S. tour in April.
