Island Records/DCD2 RecordsThe mania for Fall Out Boy’s music clearly hasn’t subsided.
The band’s new album M A N I A has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of 130,000 album units. It’s the band’s fourth #1 album and third straight studio release to hit the top. Fall Out Boy’s previous #1 albums were 2015’s American Beauty/American Psycho, 2013’s Save Rock and Roll and 2007’s Infinity on High.
M A N I A sold 13,000 copies on vinyl, marking the biggest week for a vinyl album since this past September, when The National’s Sleep Well Beast debuted with 14,000 vinyl copies.
Among the hits M A N I A has spun off so far are the Billboard Hot Rock Songs top 10s “Young and Menace,” “Champion,” and “The Last of the Real Ones,” plus “Hold Me Tight or Don’t,” which just cracked the top 40 on the Pop Songs chart.
Originally scheduled for release in September, M A N I A eventually came out January 19.
