ABC/Paula LoboKygo has debuted the video for his song with OneRepublic, “Stranger Things.”
Not to be confused with the Netflix sci-fi series, “Stranger Things” appears on the Norwegian DJ’s sophomore album, Kids in Love. It tells the story of a couple in love, hoping to escape their normal town for something more exotic.
“We turned our back on ordinary from the start/We looked for stranger things ‘cause that’s just who we are,” OneRepublic frontman Ryan Tedder sings.
The video features a working class couple dreaming of a better life. The young woman works a job at a restaurant, while her boyfriend works as a mechanic. To shake up their mundane lives, they break into a rich people’s homes and pretend they live there.
When the two finally get caught, the girl lets her boyfriend escape, and she faces the cops alone.
Kygo kicks off his Kids in Love tour on February 5 in Helsinki, Finland. After wrapping dates in Europe, he heads to the U.S. in May for four dates in Chicago, Washington, D.C., Brooklyn, and Boston.
