ABC/Nicole WilderJack White has banned phones from his upcoming tour.
In a statement posted to ticket pages for the shows, potential attendees are warned that the concerts will be a “phone-free, 100% human experience.”
“We think you’ll enjoy looking up from your gadgets for a little while and experience music and our shared love of it IN PERSON,” the statement reads.
You can still bring your phone to the show, but it’ll be locked in a Yondr pouch once you arrive. You’ll be able to unlock it an the end of the concert, but should you need it during the show, you’ll have to visit a designated unlocking station.
For their shows late last year, the reunited Misfits used Yondr to prevent phone use during their concerts. However, photos and videos from the performances still surfaced online.
If you want to use social media to document your Jack White concert experience, you’re encouraged to share posts from the newly created @OfficialJackWhiteLive Instagram profile, which will feature photos taken by the tour’s official photographer.
White’s tour kicks off April 19 with a hometown show in Detroit, and concludes August 23 in Las Vegas. He’ll be supporting his new album Boarding House Reach, which will be released March 23.
