Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe appears on Outlaws ’til the End, a country covers album recorded by metal band DevilDriver. The 12-song collection will arrive on July 6.
Blythe, along with Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton, is featured on a cover of “Whiskey River,” most famously recorded by Willie Nelson. The vocalist also contributes to a rendition of the country standard “Ghost Riders in the Sky.” That cover also includes the late Johnny Cash‘s son John Carter Cash and his wife, musician Ana Cristina Cash.
In addition to appearing on country covers albums, Blythe and the rest of Lamb of God have a busy few months ahead of them. They’re opening for Slayer on the thrash icons’ upcoming farewell tour, which kicks off May 10 in San Diego, and they’re releasing their own covers records, Legion: XX, under their original band name, Burn the Priest, on May 18.
