ABC/Randy HolmesLinkin Park‘s charity Music for Relief, which the band founded following the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, has joined forces with the Entertainment Industry Foundation to become the long-running organization’s official crisis relief program.
“My bandmates and I founded Music for Relief in the spirit of collaboration; recognizing that we could do more in partnership with others,” guitarist Brad Delson tells Billboard. “Joining forces with EIF exemplifies the teamwork that will make both entities stronger.”
“The Entertainment Industry Foundation has the capability to activate the entertainment community around a cause, which is what we set out to achieve with Music for Relief,” he added.
Music for Relief has raised over $11 million since it started, and has helped the survivors of natural disasters included Hurricane Katrina and earthquakes in Haiti, Japan and Nepal.
In commemoration of Bennington’s birthday Tuesday, Music for Relief launched a fundraiser through its One More Light Fund to benefit 320 Changes Direction, a mental health awareness campaign started by Chester wife, Talinda.
