ABC/Randy HolmesWeezer frontman Rivers Cuomo has released a new solo song with a very Rivers Cuomo-esque title. The poppy track is called “Medicine for Melancholy,” and it’s available now for digital download.
Over the weekend, Cuomo played a solo set in Los Angeles, during which we played a variety of Weezer songs, as well as covers of Smashing Pumpkins‘ “Today,” R.E.M.‘s “Losing My Religion” and Oasis‘ “Champagne Supernova.”
Meanwhile, Cuomo and the rest of Weezer have been working on a new album, titled The Black Album. According to an interview with Cuomo last month, the follow-up to 2017’s Pacific Daydream is due out May 25.
This summer, Weezer will launch a co-headlining tour with Pixies.
