ABC/Paula LoboBig Sean and Jhene Aiko‘s relationship became the talk of Twitter Monday night after a rumor surfaced that Sean cheated on Jhene with Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger.
Entertainment gossip website The Jasmine Brand went into further detail about the rumor, with sources telling the site that Sean and Nicole were spotted “cozied up” in the VIP section at an Oscars after-party.
“They were all over each other and looked really comfortable around each other. They looked like they were a couple,” the sources added.
After hearing the rumor, Jhene was reportedly “p***ed and “confronted [Big Sean] about it and he didn’t really deny it.”
Once the rumor went public, many fans offered their opinions on Twitter, choosing sides.
One fan wrote, “We all knew Big Sean didn’t do it because Black men don’t cheat,” while another tweeted, “I didn’t need Big Sean to cheat on Jhene for me to know that men are trash. Already had confirmation from like six broken hearts and two cheating exes. Thanks though!!!”
But Jhene confronted the rumor head on and denied it on Twitter that same night, writing, “sorry, but nothing about you guy’s [sic] fan fiction stories are true… I still love you tho.”
She followed that tweet up with another, stating, “the internet is a wild place. it’s a whole other reality. bless the internet. amen.”
Big Sean co-signed his girlfriend’s message by quoting her tweet with several handclap emojis.
The couple went public with their relationship in 2016. Sean was previously linked to pop singer-actress Ariana Grande and Glee actress Naya Rivera, while Jhene finalized her divorce from record producer Dot Da Genius last year.
Jhene has one child, Namiko Love, from her previous relationship with R&B singer, O’Ryan.
