ABC/Fred WatkinsThey were referred to as the ultimate “woke couple,” but now political commentator Angela Rye and Common have officially called it quits.
“We have and will always be friends. He is an amazing human being, and I’m a much better person because he’s a part of my life,” Rye told Page Six.
“May we all keep loving and living.”
Although Rye did not offer details on their split, Page Six insiders point out that Rye “wasn’t on [Common’s] arm at the Oscars.”
She also didn’t attend another arts event which Common hosted.
The rapper and the activist began dating in 2017 and made their red carpet debut at the Creative Arts Emmys in September.
In a satellite radio interview in October, Common acknowledged his relationship with Rye, saying they were indeed “dating,” and he was “happy right now.”
Common has not publicly commented on their breakup.
