ABC/Randy HolmesRemember back in October, when T.I. helped lead a boycott against a Houston’s Steakhouse restaurant in Atlanta, GA?
Well, according to What Now Atlanta, the eatery’s Lenox Road location is closing its doors for good.
A manager for the restaurant confirmed the news to the website, which adds that it’s “unclear” why the location is shutting down.
As previously reported, T.I.’s boycott all started following allegations of discrimination against a group of African-Americans who were denied seating at Houston’s.
In an Instagram message, Tip wrote about the incident and his plans to start his boycott.
“Just wanna show support to all the people who’ve ever felt profiled or discriminated against at this establishment. WE WILL NOT accept this in our city,” he wrote.
“You may not care for US personally… BUT U WILL RESPECT THE POWER OF OUR DOLLAR!!!,” he continued, adding the hashtags #ShutItDown, #HoustonsWeHaveAProblem, #BoycottHoustons and #USorELSE.
The same message also mentioned that Houston’s had faced a discrimination lawsuit back in 2015.
The “Live Your Life” rapper then led a public protest, sharing videos of it on Instagram with many people chanting, “Whose city? Our city! Shut em’ down!”
At the time, Houston’s Steakhouse issued a statement via Instagram that read, “Charges of discrimination are not only unfounded but are an intentional manipulation using social media.”
That post was eventually deleted.
