ABC/Randy HolmesJay-Z may have “99 Problems,” but money is definitely not one.
Hova has replaced Diddy at the top of the 2018 Forbes list of the wealthiest hip-hop artists. He moves up from number two, increasing his yearly earnings from $810 million to $900 million due to the success of his Armand de Brignac champagne and D’Usse cognac brands, as well as his ownership in Roc Nation and Tidal.
Diddy also saw his yearly net income increase, up five million to $825 million, as he continues to earn from his Revolt cable network, as well as Ciroc Vodka and DeLeon tequila. Dr. Dre stays at number three, even as his earnings rose from $740 million to $770 million, primarily from his Apple stock.
Jay-Z, Diddy and Dre not only top the hip-hop list, they are the richest American artists of any music genre.
Meanwhile, Eminem and Drake make their debut in the top five and are tied for the fourth and fifth spots with $100 million.
