Drayton McJunkinsSinger-dancers Ayo & Teo have met a number of famous people, from Chris Brown to Usher.
They’ve also met fellow Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards nominee Cardi B, with Ayo revealing to ABC Radio that his younger brother Teo has a huge crush on the “Bodak Yellow” superstar.
“We love Cardi B! I love Cardi B. We ran into Cardi B at the BET Awards,” says Ayo, before Teo cuts him off to add, “She gave me a hug.”
Ayo continues, “We did a couple favors for Cardi B. We did a couple songs for her. We danced to a couple of her old songs and she reposted us five times, so she already know who we are.”
Teo also remembers some potential flirting taking place from Cardi’s side before meeting her at the 2017 BET Awards.
He fondly recalls, “She was like, ‘Oh you need to dance to one of my songs. I think she was talking about ‘Lick’ at the time. She was like ‘Dance to my song with yo’ light-skinned, long hair.’ I was like, ‘Hold up!'”
“Then I seen her at the BET Awards and she gave me a hug. She was so happy to see me.”
Perhaps Teo and his brother Ayo will be able to connect with Cardi B in person again at the 2018 Kids’ Choice Awards in March.
Ayo & Teo are up for Favorite Musical YouTube Creator and Cardi has been nominated for Favorite Breakout Artist.
The show airs live on Saturday, March 24 at 8 p.m. on Nickelodeon.
