ABC/Randy HolmesToday marks the sixth year anniversary of Trayvon Martin‘s death, so fittingly, the Paramount Network has released the teaser and revealed the release month for JAY-Z‘s upcoming docu-series, Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story.
The docu-series, co-executive produced by JAY, is set to air in July. The series is based on Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin, a book by Trayvon’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin.
Like the book, the six-part doc will follow the life and legacy of Trayvon and the events that followed his death.
Rest in Power was initially set to be another collaborative effort between the JAY-Z and Harvey Weinstein‘s The Weinstein Company.
However, following Weinstein’s sexual assault scandal, TWC was dropped from the project.
The project will now air on the Paramount Network, previously known as Spike TV.
