Courtesy of BonhamsBeep beep’m, beep beep, yeah! A trio of speedy sports cars that once belonged to Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart and Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason will be part of an upcoming Bonhams auction that will be held in Chichester, U.K., on Sunday, March 18.
Among the autos up for bid is a 1967 Lamborghini 400 GT 2+2 originally owned by McCartney. The former Beatles star purchased the car, which is one of only 247 made, in February 1968. The vehicle is painted wine red and can reach a speed of 167 miles per hour. It’s expected to fetch between $560,000 and $700,000.
Another car going on the block is a 1991 Lamborghini Diablo that previously belonged to Stewart, who bought it new as a Christmas present to himself in December of that year. The cherry-red auto, which can exceed a speed of 200 miles per hour, is estimated to sell for between $170,000 and $200,000.
The third vehicle is a 1974 Ferrari Dino 246 GT Spider whose first owner was Mason, an avid vintage car collector and racer. The black car can attain a speed of more than 140 miles per hour, and is expected to bring in $520,000 to $590,000.
The auction is one of the special events taking place during the 2018 edition of the Goodwood Members’ Meeting, an annual celebration of vintage cars, auto-racing and other sporting activities held at the lavish Goodwood estate. Visit Bonhams.com to check out the full list of cars up for bid.
