Courtesy of Osbourne Digital MediaMore than a dozen years after the end of their popular MTV reality TV series, the Osbournes are coming back! This time, however, Ozzy and his family will be starring in a weekly podcast that’s titled, appropriately enough, The Osbournes Podcast.
The show premieres on Monday, March 5, and will feature the Metal Madman and his wife Sharon, daughter Kelly and son Jack discussing their experiences on the TV show, while also bringing people up to date on what’s happening with their lives now. Fans can listen to or download the podcast at TheOsbournesPodcast.com and via iTunes’ Apple Podcasts.
According to a statement on the official website, the podcast will feature 10 episodes, and will be hosted by Jack Osbourne, who “will lead Sharon, Ozzy and Kelly on a wild, unfiltered and unpredictable journey filled with laughter, love and everything it means to be an Osbourne.”
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jack says he’s a fan of podcasts, and felt that doing one was a good alternative to relaunching the TV series.
“There’s been talk about bringing The Osbournes back, but it would never work,” he maintains. “I thought, ‘Well, this is probably the next best thing.'”
Jack also reveals that he and his family have been revisiting episodes of the series while recording the podcasts, admitting, “It’s really quite awkward to watch, especially now as a parent.”
The podcast also will feature some guest appearances, including comedian Jim Norton, Sharon’s The Talk co-host Sherry Underwood and singer and TV host Carnie Wilson. New episodes will debut each Monday after the podcast’s March 5 premiere.
The Osbournes series ran from 2002 to 2005, and won an Emmy in 2002 for Outstanding Reality Program.
