Neilson Barnard/Getty Images for BMIAfter many years of waiting, Lil Wayne fans can finally look forward to the release of Tha Carter V.
“We’ll get that this year,” Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman tells Rap-Up. “I’m guaranteeing you gon’ get it this year.”
Wayne expected to release the CD in 2014, however it has remained in the vault because of his ongoing legal dispute with the record label.
Birdman was full of compliments for Weezy, saying ““He is the best ever to me. A lot of success comes from under his umbrella.” He predicted that Tha Carter V will be one of the “biggest” albums of 2018. “Without a doubt,” he says. “It’s gonna’ be well worth the wait.”
Wayne is suing Cash Money for $51 million, accusing the company of withholding his album. Last year, he filed a suit charging that Universal Music and Cash Money are working together to deny him money he deserves from the success of his Young Money Entertainment artists Drake and Nicki Minaj.
