Courtesy of Live NationAfter the recent announcement that Journey and Def Leppard will be mounting a massive North American co-headlining tour this year, two of the bands’ members have teamed up to star in a humorous video promoting the trek that has been posted on Live Nation’s official YouTube channel.
In the clip, dubbed “Mission Impossible,” we see slow-motion footage of Journey guitarist Neal Schon and Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott making their way separately into the offices of Live Nation, as snippets of their bands’ respective hits play in the background. Schon and Elliott arrive at one particular office simultaneously, and each rocker offers to let the other enter the room first, but both eventually head through the door at the same time, bumping shoulders as they push through.
Once in the office, Schon and Elliott meet face to face and declare, “Let’s do this!” then proceed to try to figure out what cities their bands should visit on their tour using colored markers to scribble on a roughly drawn map on the wall.
“We are gonna go everywhere,” declares Elliott. “We start here…” and Schon cuts in and says, “We go there.”
“We go here,” adds Joe, before Neal says, “Let’s just go everywhere.” Both men quickly agree on the tour plan, declaring “We’ve got it!” then bump fists while dropping their markers onto the ground.
Journey and Def Leppard’s North American co-headlining tour features a whopping 59 dates, from a May 21 show in Hartford, Connecticut, through an October 6 concert in Inglewood, California.
