ABC RadioBrother duo Ayo & Teo originally amassed thousands of fans because of their impressive dance moves in music videos like Chris Brown‘s “Party” and Usher‘s “No Limit.”
But thanks to the success of their hit single “Rolex,” they’re well on their way to a singing career of their own. Teo tells ABC Radio that they have “songs for an album,” but are trying to figure out their next steps.
“We’re trying to figure out if we need to go harder. What features we need. All of that,” he says. “We definitely got a lot of songs,” Ayo adds.
Ayo continues, “We thought albums were easy to put together. Like, last year we was really trying to put it out [in] December and then we were like, ‘OK it’s harder than what we thought.'”
When asked what they find to be the hardest part about making music, Ayo further explains, “I feel like if we have enough beats, then ideas will run through our heads all night. When we feel limited to a beat, like we only have five beats on the table, then you’re not gonna get nothing. We’ll probably only make one song that night.”
Teo says, “It definitely take[s] a minute to write, ’cause you gotta know what to say to get people turnt and to get people to like it. So that’s the hard part.”
“Or you gotta say stuff that people relate to,” says Ayo.
One thing that isn’t hard for Ayo & Teo, however, is working with Breezy. Ayo says that the two run into him “all the time” and says working with Brown in music videos and in the dance studio is “fun.”
Ayo adds, “He’s like our big bro and he’s full of energy just like us.”
