ABC/Kelsey McNealG-Eazy isn’t taking it easy. After months of planning and hard work, the rapper kicked off his North American tour last night in Houston, and says a special guest might join him for a few shows on the trek: his girlfriend and “Him & I” duet partner, Halsey.
“As far as she goes, I wouldn’t be surprised if she popped up at a place or two,” he told ABC Radio. “But we’ll leave that to surprise.”
The 20-date trek comes in support of G-Eazy’s latest album, The Beautiful & Damned. “I’m just excited to get back in front of the fans,” he tells ABC Radio. “It’s been a while, so I’m excited to perform the new music.”
And while Halsey’s appearance won’t be a given, there’s one thing that fans can definitely count on: G-Eazy will be focusing on his new music and its themes of duality.
“The album is a comment on celebrity and the lifestyle that sometimes comes with it,” he explains. “…How beautiful this life can be but also the dark side that comes with excess and overindulgence, and just trying to maintain a strong sense of self and identity and core in a kind of chaotic word.”
Tomorrow, G-Eazy’s tour continues at the Pavilion at Irving Music Factory in Dallas, Texas.
