Pascal Le Segretain/Getty ImagesJoe Jackson is coming to the defense of his late son Michael Jackson, after legendary producer Quincy Jones claimed in a recent Vulture interview that the King of Pop “stole a lot of songs,” including his hit track, “Billie Jean.”
When asked about Quincy’s allegations by a TMZ videographer, Joe replies, “I raised Michael. He’s my son. Quincy Jones know[s] better. I don’t talk about nobody.”
He then says, “Yes,” when asked if Michael wrote “Billie Jean,” adding that the track is “practically everything he is.”
As previously noted, Quincy pointed out the similarity between “Billie Jean” and Donna Summer‘s “State of Independence” to Vulture.
He said of Michael, “The notes don’t lie, man. He was as Machiavellian as they come.”
Quincy also claimed in the interview that Michael was “greedy” and was obsessed with plastic surgery because “his father told him he was ugly and abused him.”
