Matt BaronElton John may be retiring from touring, but that doesn’t mean he’ll slow down his charity work. The Rocket Man has just announced his 26th annual Academy Awards viewing party.
The star-studded event will be held Sunday, March 4 at West Hollywood Park in L.A. The guests will enjoy a “sumptuous dinner” prepared by the chefs of El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain, which has been voted among the top three restaurants in the world.
As for the musical entertainment, breakout rock band Greta Van Fleet will be the evening’s special guest performers. Of course, Elton usually ends up doing a number or two himself.
Over the past 25 years, Elton’s party, which also includes an auction of valuable and unique items and experiences, has raised more than $62 million for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
Among the co-chairs of this year’s event: Katy Perry, Boy George, Sarah Silverman, Jim Carrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Allison Janney, Tyler Perry, Neil Patrick Harris and many more.
