The song is featured on the rapper’s new two-track project, Scary Hours, which arrived on January 19.
Meanwhile, the other track on Scary Hours, “Diplomatic Immunity,” has launched at number seven on the chart.
This makes Drizzy one of only two acts who’ve ever debuted two songs on the Hot 100 simultaneously; the other is Ed Sheeran.
But Drake is the first artist ever to debut two songs in the top 10 on the Hot 100 twice. He previously pulled this off last year when, in April, “Passionfruit” landed at number eight and “Portland” at number 9.
In addition, Drake has accomplished a number of other milestones with “God’s Plan.”
The song is now number one on the Streaming Songs chart, the Digital Song Sales chart, the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and the Hot Rap Songs chart.
Overall, this is Drake’s fourth #1 on the Hot 100 and his second as lead artist — but it’s the first time he’s ever scored a #1 debut.
