ABC RadioHard to believe, but it’s been two years since Craig David released his album, Following My Intuition.
Now, the singer is back with his latest disc, The Time Is Now, and tells ABC Radio that, for him, life really is all about following his intuition.
Explaining his musical hiatus, Craig says, “I was evolving as an artist and…I’ve always been recording and releasing albums and writing music”
“Some of them haven’t been on the radar as much as the earlier stuff. But, yeah that period of time…gave me a chance to recognize what is it that I really want.”
He adds, “I had to go through moving to Miami and having the home that you always wanted and the car that you always wanted. But then I realized, ‘You know what? What I really want is to be close to my friends and family and make music that positively impacts people’s lives. And that’s my purpose in life and I get it now.'”
As for Craig’s new album, The Time Is Out, he says that the disc is truly “an R&B album at its heart.”
“It’s R&B feel-good with such a positive foundation,” he tells ABC Radio.
“I want people to turn this album on and feel like, you know what, whatever troubles are going on in their life, whatever negativity may be coming at them, this is the album to kind of go to and just be like, ‘I’m good for the next 55, 60 minutes. And then you wanna go again.'”
The Time is Now is out everywhere now.
