Credit: Trisha CampoOriginal Beach Boys member Al Jardine has lined up a series of solo tour dates that will feature the surf-rock legend playing some of his band’s classic songs and solo material, while also discussing highlights from the group’s history.
Jardine’s trek, dubbed “A Postcard from California — From the Very First Song with a Founding Member of The Beach Boys,” gets underway with a January 23-24 stand in Minneapolis. It’s currently mapped out through a four-date engagement, June 7-10, in Park City, Utah.
Joining Al onstage will be his son Matt, who’s also been singing with his dad on Beach Boys mastermind Brian Wilson‘s Pet Sounds 50th Anniversary Tour.
Al’s Storytellers-style performance will cover his whole musical career, from The Beach Boys’ first single, “Surfin’,” through his 2010 solo album, A Postcard from California. The shows also will offer a multimedia presentation featuring rare video footage and photos.
In addition to his solo concerts, Jardine will perform at the 2018 dates on Wilson’s long-running Pet Sounds 50th Anniversary Tour, kicking off May 7 in Washington, D.C., and scheduled through a May 20 show in Pompano Beach, Florida.
