ABC/Randy HolmesCNN political commentator Van Jones has tapped JAY-Z to be the first guest on the one-hour inaugural episode of his new show, The Van Jones Show.
Variety reports that JAY will be “ready to talk about activism and some of the themes behind his recent album, 4:44,” during his appearance.
Jones tells the publication that the rapper’s Grammy-nominated album “is a real social justice classic, and I want to talk to him about that.”
Jones adds that it also wasn’t hard to ask JAY to appear on his show, since he’s actually signed as a client to the rapper’s Roc Nation entertainment company.
“I didn’t have to Google to find the phone number,” says Jones.
The Van Jones Show premieres Saturday, January 27 at 7 p.m. on CNN.
