ABC/Image Group LAKehlani has been announced as one of the nominees for this year’s GLAAD Media Awards.
The awards recognize and celebrate the fair, accurate and inclusive representations of the LGBT community in different forms of media.
The “Honey” singer, who is nominated in the Outstanding Music Artist category, identifies as bisexual.
Other artists who scored a nod in the same category include singer-songwriter Kelela, “Wrecking Ball” singer Miley Cyrus and “Bad at Love” singer-songwriter Halsey.
GLAAD is also honoring JAY-Z’s song and music video “Smile” with a special recognition award; the song is about how Jay’s mother Gloria Carter came out as a lesbian.
The GLAAD Media Award ceremonies take place in Los Angeles on April 12 and in New York on May 5.
