Hey there! I'm host of the "WNLC Morning Show" weekday's starting at 6am. I was born in Atlanta Georgia and raised in nearby Marietta. I was born in the 70's so I love Slinky's, Stretch Armstrong and Mr. Microphone!
How I got my start:My start in radio came by working in the news department at WICH, 97.7 WCTY and WKNL before moving to Classic Hits 98.7 WNLC in 2005.
Before radio I...: was an aircraft mechanic in the U.S. Navy (VXE-6) from 1993 to 1997 and spent lots of time in New Zealand, Hawaii, Antarctica (where I met my wife) and other totally cool places around the globe. I previously worked in the semiconductor industry at Intel before pursuing my love of broadcasting.
When I was in junior/high school: I was a band geek.....that loved sports! I started working at age 15 and when I wasn't marching in the band I was a cook at an awesome neighborhood steak house called Ernie's in Marietta.
My first car was: a 1979 4-door Honda Accord. $450. It has wheels and when I pressed the gas pedal...it moved. Everyone should learn to drive a stick.
What else: I'm married to my best friend and adoring wife Donnel. We moved here from Chicago in 2000 and live in Connecticut's quit corner with our 2 year old daughter Avery and our adopted cat Roger!
Things I love: My family, faith, the United States military, pizza, Tom Petty, R.E.M. my Jeep Wrangler, the Chicago Bears and Cubs, Mohegan Sun, my 56 inch TV, the Golden Girls, NFA (my niece and nephew go there!), playing poker, UCONN basketball, USF Football (my wife's alama-mater), and last but not least laughing my a** off!
Other cool stuff:
The parents of Lt. Charles Jacobs
were extremely overjoyed after he surprised them at a Boston Bruins
hockey game. They thought he was in Afghanistan, until he came out to
drop the puck for the game. Their reaction is, of course, touching.
